Due to recent events classes & programming have temporarily been put on hold
In addition to our free brown bag lunch initiative, The Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center would like offer free cultural take-home art kits to 200 students in the Old South End.
We understand the importance of art. Art helps with communication, self-confidence, and is also therapeutic. It’s important every child has the opportunity to be creative during this time. So, we have put together several art kits that children can do at home. The kits are all inclusive so you don’t need to run out to get any materials, everything you need is in the kit.
We would like to be able to provide 200 children with one kit a week, for 4 weeks. That is a total of 800 kits! We have 4 unique cultural centric crafts with easy to follow directions and a short history on each Latin American craft.
Please consider investing in this program! A small donation of $20 is enough to provide all 4 projects for one child.
Kits will be distributed once a week, during the current school year to students that currently receive our brown bag lunches as well as to students of Queen of Apostles. Please use the link below to make a contribution to this program.

"MAKE IT" On Thursday's
Come and spend some time with SQACC making art. Thursday mornings from 10 am to 1 pm we will be having a project based art class open to the public. Classes move at your own pace, so stop by anytime between 10am and 1pm to start your project. No registration required.
The projects typically take about 30 to 60 minutes to complete and will change monthly.
Join us for a little latin culture whether it be cooking, art or dance! We provide an interactive cultural experience to private groups such as schools, organizations, after school programs, daycare centers, etc.
We can offer up to a four hour tour that that allows youth and attendees to learn about SQACC's mission and what we do. They will work with our Art Coordinator on a latin inspired art project and then head into the kitchen to make their own lunch! We can also offer dance classes, a visit to our bees, that produce our "Honey from the Hood" and more.
Cultural tours can be tailored to your group depending on the size and length of time you desire.
We can accommodate groups from 10 to over 50. Questions? Contact us below or scroll down and download the registration form for pricing and other info.
SQACC has been partnering with organizations like BGSU Art Department and the OLA (Organization of Latino Arts) for over ten years to bring vivid public art murals to the Toledo Community.
